The Department of Energy’s Exascale Computing Project (ECP) Exascale Systems focus area supports advanced system development by vendors needed to produce capable exascale systems. The focus area also includes acquisition and support of testbeds to support ECP application, software, and hardware activities. DOE exascale system procurements will be executed by the laboratories and identified to host the systems. Acquisition and deployment of exascale systems will follow Office of Science and National Nuclear Security Administration policies, and procedures for major scientific/computing facility upgrades. An initial exascale system will be in operation by 2022, and capable exascale systems will be in operation by 2023.
